Since the beginning of time, and I’m referring to BagLady Basics time, my friends and fellow designers have been advising and encouraging me to be the face of my brand. They suggested that I model my own clothes, and share more of my life, and myself in order to form a better connection with my followers and clients. Since the beginning of time, I’ve ignored most of their advice. Not because I didn’t agree with them or thought that their advice wasn’t valid, but just because I love being the “girl in the background”. I absolutely enjoy working behind the scenes. I’ve always been a bit shy and a very private person. Not that outgoing when among strangers, and definitely not the kind of person that will want to be the face of anything- not even my own brand. Over the past couple years I’ve tried to slowly open up, but always managed to reseal the door. But with all that said, I've always and still love staying connected with my friends and family back home and the U.S. , and using social media, particularly Instagram is a great way of doing so. I have also recently taken up a great interest in photography- as in being BEHIND the camera, not in front, but like many of you all, I do however have a case of FOMO. I enjoy scrolling through Instagram and of course posting pictures on there (mainly on my personal account), and I've managed to do so while keeping certain aspects of my life private. I’ve always admired how my friend and birthday twin Ceola, has fearlessly opened up to her readers. I’ve kept up with her blog posts for years, and am always excited when she makes a new one, because I know it’s her, it’s real, and honest, and comes from her heart! So I said to myself, ok if C can do it and we have similar personalities, then I can as well! *Shoutout to C! One of my last Instagram posts in 2017 mentioned my desire to share more of my life and myself with you all, and had personally challenged myself to open up more in 2018- share more of my life, and put a little more effort into being the face of my brand. I think I’ve been doing ok… But I must confess, I’m SOOOOOOO tired of taking pictures. So I’ve decided to let my friends share this “light” with me. They actually volunteered and I couldn’t be more excited about it, especially since sometimes I feel as though they have become as much a part of BagLady Basics as they are a part of my life. So wait for it, you’re going to be seeing a lot of my friends’ faces popping up on your feed in my B.L.B. designs. Some of the pieces are their own purchases, and others will just be samples for photoshoots, but all worn with and in love. They will be some of my BagLady of Style features (like Tatiana and Helene), or will be on an insta or blog post, all up in ya space! Like in this post! I hope you’ve enjoyed viewing these photos. They were taken by me and modeled by my friend Oksana, on a recent visit to Shanghai’s M50 Art District. It was just an “ IPhone shoot”, but I intend on buying a “professional” camera soon! Which camera do you suggest for a beginner!? Feel free to leave some advice in the comment section below! You don't look like a beginner for me. What I see is a professional model who owns a company that will get bigger as time passes by! You're friends were right, you deserve to be the face of your own brand! You don't need a celebrity nor an influencer to make the load for you, because you can stand alone and uplift BagLady Basics using your own power. Well, you are a gorgeous woman and your brand represents you well. There is no reason for me not to like the items you are selling! I am pretty sure this will be a huge success!
