Name: Denise Lai
Current City: Shanghai
Occupation: Graphic Designer, Fashion Blogger and Creator and Editor of FIRSTLOVE Magazine.
How would you describe your style?
Streetwear inspired girly tomboy
What brought you to your current city?
My husband's job brought us to Shanghai and since I work for myself, the move was easy!
If you had to wear one outfit everyday, what would it be?
Black skinny ripped jeans, monotone black and white graphic tee, oversized bomber jacket, classic black and white Converse Chuck Taylor hi-tops and a trusty investment-worthy Celine bag!
Who or what influences/inspires your style?
I'm an internet fanatic, so I'm constantly on Pinterest and always feeling inspired by other bloggers. Both me and my husband have very similar styles so we always vibe off of each other's outfit for the day.
What does being a BagLady mean to you?
Being comfortable but in a minimalistic way!
What do you like most about our garments?
Easy to wear, match and the comfort level is on point!
How does your current lifestyle affect the clothes you wear?
I work for myself so I dress pretty much the same everyday. My white French Bulldog sheds a lot which really affects my all black outfits, but nothing a sticky roller can't fix :)
What counties have you visited before?
Fortunately, I'm thankful that I am able to travel to many countries.
Do you pack light when you travel?
We've started experimenting with the non-check-in theory when traveling so depending on the length of the trip, I try to pack everything into one carry on small suitcase.
Do you have any tips for packing light?
Wear basics like plain white or black tees so that you can repeat them and be practical about the number of shoes you really need.
Have your travels shaped your style in anyway?
Any country I visit, I'll spot some really stylish people and I take mental notes about what's so cool about them.
Have you ever been afraid of expressing your personal style?
I've never been particularly afraid but there are some trends or styling points that I've wanted to try out in an outfit but because I'm more curvy, sometimes it just doesn't work out.
What’s one thing that you’re proud of doing/accomplishing?
Quitting my full-time job and going freelance and starting my own magazine.
Whats the best advice you’ve ever gotten?
"Just ask questions."
Do you have any advice for our readers?
Work hard, be humble and feel thankful!
